In these days where immediacy seems to have taken on an obsessional status, it’s remarkable to read a book that re-affirms the reality that true transformation takes time! Time to become aware of the personal need for change and restoration, before rushing in to theorise the needs of others. This book is about Godly process. It speaks of how it may be true that “hurt people hurt people”, it’s equally powerful that “healed people heal people”! I commend this story of hope over despair. I once wrote about being “A dreamer for the Kingdom… dreams that will change a world that’s lost its way” – Jenny is both a dreamer and a tireless activist.

I have had the privilege both of meeting Jenny and also visiting Karis House. This book is filled with practical wisdom that is bringing help and hope to a growing number of young women. It represents years of hard work and sacrifice springing from deep-rooted compassion. This unashamedly flows from a belief that the Christian good news message offers freedom and the possibility of new beginnings for all.
Stuart Bell, Senior Pastor of Alive Church, Lincoln, and the leader of The Ground Level Network
Excellent insightful book into helping people understand their struggles, well-structured and easily readable. If the reader engages with the journey and completes the steps suggested it will have a positive impact on their thinking, helping them to make sense of the “why” and give them a “how to” perspective of their future. The author clearly identifies the issues and walks with the readers throughout using examples of others who have walked the journey before. It brings hope into the hopelessness that some may feel about their situation and offers self-help suggestions which have worked for others.
Marion Sandhu, Pastor of The Lighthouse Church
An absolutely fantastic book that takes you on a journey to being healed from things that have affected your past. The Step Up actions at the end of each section really help to process what you have read & work through what has spoken to you. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Wow! What an easy read suited to all reading abilities, a book I couldn’t put down. The title itself compelled me to to read it which I did straight through and that reread it again after. Full of knowledge, insightfulness into how are experiences impact us, clearly written from the heart of how passionate she is for helping those from hurting to healing based on her own experience of longing to reach that place herself. Written with such honesty, emotion and helps in self reflection of current perspectives and then evaluate the effectiveness of them to us. Generally a brilliant read and regardless of your own personal journey, there is always something that needs healing, a must read. As you read through the pages it seems that the author is walking with you, a support, encourager and a genuine desire to see others walk in their freedom of healing.

An absolutely beautiful book written by a very authentic lady! This book is a brilliant example of how compassion, grace and unconditional love can truly change a persons heart. Buy it for yourself… or buy it for a friend – not only will you be impacting lives but you’ll be supporting a fantastic charity at the same time.

A sensitive and educational view of troubled childhoods with the heart filled intention of making sense of this in adulthood. Jenny uses practical exercises to connect to Christianity for meaning and growth. If you have lost your connection with God and want to rekindle it, or you haven’t thought about faith being the answer – this book is an accessible route to get the answers you seek.

This book is so well written and you know the author has walked most of these paths herself as her depths of insight clearly show. The notes in the book and the Step Up actions are very helpful and each of them include a prayer – bringing it all before our Father in heaven who knows us much better than we know ourselves and loves us with a perfect love. He wants to see us healed and whole. God has used Jenny, having put into her heart a love for those who have been hurt by life and, in a small way, I have had the privilege of seeing first hand the result.

I have bought Jenny Tedbury’s book, and can say it is not only a valuable recourse to examine our own life and coping behaviour, but also as parents we can learn so much of what we might be contributing into our own children’s future adult behaviour.
I recognised so many different situations not just for myself. Brilliant work by Jenny, and so deserved to hit the top of best seller list.
Buy it, I highly recommended, just make sure you have a few hours spare when you start you really won’t want to put it down!
